St Kilda is set to lodge the paperwork for free agent Brad Crouch.

The Saints are prepared to submit the paperwork to secure Crouch on a deal worth between $700,000 and $800,000 a season.

It is unknown if the deal will be enough for Adelaide to receive pick 2 in the national draft or whether they will receive an end of first-round pick that will equate to pick 22.

According to the Herald Sun's Jay Clarke and Reece Homfray, the Saints and Crows discussed a possible trade but were unable to reach an agreement.

The Crows can still match the bid and force a trade.

Crouch is believed to be happy to remain at the Crows if the move to St Kilda falls through.
