Port Adelaide are prepared to walk away from negotiations with Essendon following the Bombers' request for a first-round selection in exchange for Orazio Fantasia, per Fox Sports' Tom Morris.

The Power originally offered pick 29 in exchange for the 25-year-old, with the Bombers keen on a greater return.

Port Adelaide don't hold a first-round selection in the 2020 draft after trading it 12 months ago, and won't be looking to move on their opening selection for 2021 given the strong crop of South Australian products.

Essendon have also expressed interest in an established player if a first-round pick won't finalise a deal, with the Power now frustrated from the Bombers' offers to date.

Fantasia was close to requesting a trade to Port Adelaide in 2019 before a last-minute change of heart.

If Port Adelaide rule themselves out of contention for Fantasia, the Crows could re-enter the race, but will be reluctant to trade early picks as they see GWS young gun Jackson Hately as their top priority.
