Melbourne look to be frontrunners to gain Ben Brown in the upcoming exchange period as the Kangaroos look set to ask for the Demons' second-round selection in return, per SEN's Sam Edmund.

Brown is destined to leave North Melbourne, with the Demons looking to be the answer to where he will be playing in 2021 after completing a medical with the club.

Whilst Brown is yet to officially discuss his future with Simon Goodwin, Melbourne will look to finalise a deal when the trade window opens, with the Kangaroos set to pitch a swap for Melbourne's pick 23 in the 2020 draft.

Brown is not contracted with the Kangaroos for 2021 but will not be a free agent, with Demons forced to trade for the spearhead.

Brown sustained a leg injury in Round 10 against Geelong this season and did not feature for the rest of the year, ending a forgettable campaign for the 27-year-old.

The Kangaroos key forward booted 60+ goals in his three season prior to 2020 and is also on the radar of Essendon.
