Giants star Josh Kelly comes out-of-contract at the end of the 2021 season and is a "50-50" chance to stay at GWS according to Sportsday host Sam McClure.
Kelly currently has an eight-year trigger clause in his contract with the Giants until 2029 worth close to $1 million per season.
When asked how he saw things playing out, McClure said there is an unclear future surrounding the 2017 All-Australian.
“I think it’s a real 50-50. I think it’s somewhat dependent on his form, I think it’s somewhat dependent on how the Giants go," McClure said.
“I think that Josh Kelly will either be on a different contract at GWS next year, or I think he’ll be at another club. That is just a personal opinion. I’m not saying that I know that to be the case, that’s just the people that I speak to."
GWS list manager Jason McCartney has remained positive as he continues discussions with Kelly's management.
“We’ll just keep working away on that. There’s no indications there at the moment that he wouldn’t be playing at the Giants, that’s for sure.” McCartney told Sportsday.
The Giants sit at four wins and five losses after round nine following a horror start to the season where they lost their first three matches.
Kelly, 26, is originally from Melbourne and has been tempted by the idea of coming home over the past four seasons.
Four Victorian clubs have thrown their hat in the ring to acquire the classy midfielder, the most publicised being the Kangaroos.

North Melbourne previously lodged a bid for Kelly in 2019 however he recommitted to GWS on his current deal.
Essendon and Hawthorn are considered as two clubs that could accommodate for his massive salary.
Kelly is averaging 24 disposals so far this season, a significant decline since he averaged 27.9 disposals in the 2017, '18 and '19 seasons.
