GWS have reportedly knocked back Geelong's offer for star Giant Jeremy Cameron.

According to The Herald Sun's Jay Clark, the Cats offered two first-round picks for the gun forward.

The Cats currently hold picks 13, 15 and 20 and have reportedly agreed to deal two of them for the 27-year old.

The Cats wanted a second-round pick back from GWS in the swap, something the Giants were not willing to hand over.

GWS remain keen to get a player back in the trade despite the Cats ruling out dealing Brandan Parfitt

Esava Ratugolea and Mark O'Connor have also been linked to trade talks as players of interest of the Giants.

Cameron's manager confirmed the Cats' "respectful offer" on SEN’s Dwayne’s World.

“I know it’s a respectful offer that they’ve put forward and it’s good that both clubs are talking and communicating. Both are good operators so fingers crossed everything gets done sooner rather than later," he said.

“People can build a case to work out what the value of any player is. I guess the starting point, in some respects, when the Giants decided to match it had to be be better than that.

“In this case, I think that is.

“I’m hoping the process respects Jeremy’s request to get to Geelong and we can get the trade done.”

The Giants matched Geelong's five-year free agency offer for the Coleman medallist worth around $900,000 per season.

Had GWS not matched the offer they would have received pick 11 as a compensation for losing the dual All-Australian.

The Giants will reportedly not retain Cameron and hold him to his contract.

The AFL trade period ends on Thursday night at 7.30pm AEST.
