The AFL's integrity unit is reportedly launching an investigation into an incident involving "potentially inappropriate touching" between players during the Brisbane-Sydney game at the Gabba, according to 9News' Tom Morris.

The players involved have not been named due to the nature of the incident, but it is believed a Brisbane player was the offender.

The Swans player involved has not made an official complaint, but both clubs are aware of the investigation, with the AFL speaking to both clubs about the enquiry.

However, it is understood that the case has been closed, with "no further action required".

A still image that was used to instigate the investigation is believed to make the incident much worse than it was in motion.

In 2023, the AFL suspended Gold Coast skipper Touk Miller for one game after committing a ‘squirrel grip' act against Brisbane's Dayne Zorko.

Three years earlier, two Richmond Tigers players, Nick Vlaustin and Jayden Short, were required to apologise for inappropriately touching teammate Mabior Chol during their song celebration after a win.

The club also released a further statement, saying that they were "committed to providing a safe workplace environment and will continue to work to ensure that is the case."
