Calder Cannons' Paul Pascu has gained plenty of attention from recruiters for his competitiveness across his junior career, rated as both a defender and midfielder ahead of Monday's AFL Draft.

Pascu managed four games for Vic Metro this season, averaging 14 disposals, 8 contested possessions and 5 tackles.

Meanwhile, the young prospect also skippered the Calder Cannons in 2022, playing 13 matches, averaging 17 disposals.

The Oak Park product got a taste of football against a more senior outfit when he featured for Essendon's VFL side in 2022, managing games against Footscray and Southport mid-year.

Finishing as a runner-up in the Calder Cannons' best and fairest this year, Pascu has been touted as a ready-made prospect due to his size and ability to execute on both feet.

Expert Comments

"A tough as nails midfielder who can also play in defence. Wins his own ball and uses it effectively, particularly on his preferred left foot. Captained the Calder Cannons this year, playing 13 matches and averaging 17 disposals (seven contested), as well as getting a taste of the next levels playing with both Victoria Metro and Essendon in the VFL" - Kevin Sheehan
