A Western Bulldogs-linked teenager had another strong outing as a bottom-age talent in the Coates Talent League over the weekend, while a familiar surname was again among his side's best as he presses his case as a top-five talent.
An Essendon VFL ruckman has continued to show promise, while the U16s carnival got underway for WA and SA, with a Western Australian ruckman a standout in a low-scoring game.
Here's all the leading draft news out of the weekend...
Dogs NGA, Jets teammate stun Cannons
Western Bulldogs-tied small forward Khaled El Souki had a stellar outing on Sunday for the Western Jets in a five-goal win over the Calder Cannons.
El Souki booted four goals from 15 disposals as the Jets finished strong, with the 173cm livewire potentially having a massive afternoon as he kicked four behinds.
Showing off his pressure, the 2026 prospect also laid seven tackles to be a front-half menace against a strong Calder unit.
The performance from El Souki comes a month after he amassed 31 disposals and a goal in a breakout game against the Northern Territory.
El Souki combined nicely with teammate Oskar Ainsworth, who booted five goals from 21 disposals and 10 marks against the Cannons.
The outing for Ainsworth followed last week's 2.4 against Gippsland, which was his first game of multiple majors for the year.
Duursma shines as Power clinch narrow win
Top five prospect Willem Duurmsa strengthened his case as a leading talent in this year's draft class after recording 21 disposals, nine marks and two goals in a three-point win over the Eastern Ranges.
Duursma shared time at both ends of the field, playing outside of the midfield after showing his ability as an inside ball winner earlier in the season.
Able to play as a tall defender or target forward, Duursma again flexed his versatility in a strong performance in the Coates Talent League.
Power midfielder Brodie Atkins had 30 disposals, six inside 50s and four tackles in a strong game, while Zach O'Keefe with his 26 touches and five marks.
Gippsland's Luke Cheffers was strong at the contest, laying 12 tackles to bring his season average to 8.6 per game from nine appearances.
Josiah Landy and Sullivan Robey were the sole multiple goalkickers for Eastern, while Jamie Armitage had a team-high 23 disposals to go with his goal.
Byrne, McKinnon continue strong campaigns
Leading CTL goalkicker Charlie McKinnon added another three goals to his tally over the weekend in a win over the Northern Knights.
McKinnon now has 25 goals to his name for the GWV Rebels in 2025, having amassed hauls of seven and eight while failing to go goalless in any game.
In a 44-point win over the Knights, McKinnon had six scoring shots from his eight touches, with teammate Chad Finck the only player to best his goals haul.
Vic Country talent Taylor Byrne had arguably his best game for the season, booting three goals from 22 disposals and nine tackles.
Northern's Seb Murphy - the younger brother of Adelaide's Lachie - had a game-high 28 touches, as well as eight inside 50s, seven marks and five tackles.
Over-ager Gabriel Stumpf continued a good year down back, having 11 rebound 50s from his 21 disposals and four marks.
Eagles upset Sturt in top clash
Woodville-West Torrens' U18s have closed the gap on ladder leaders Sturt with a 25-point win over the Double Blues over the weekend.
Eagles pair Jamie Russell and Lachlan Sands found plenty of the ball while managing to hit the scoreboard, amassing 25 disposals and three goals, and 23 disposals and two goals respectively.
The win for Woodville-West Torrens sees them sit three points away from Sturt, who sit top with eight wins and a draw in 11 games.
Jack Mumford (three goals), Jake Hall (two) and Luke Russel (two) also added multiple majors each.
At the other end, Sturt pair Ryan Davies and Ivan Wilkinson booted three goals each, while SA squad member Noah Roberts-Thomson was strong with 23 disposals and a goal.
Panthers claim 70-point win
South Adelaide's U18s breezed past Norwood over the weekend with a 70-point win as a host of Panthers flexed their value.
Kodah Edwards came away from the victory with 27 disposals, six marks, five tackles, eight clearances, six inside 50s and a goal.
Teammate Thomas Simpson booted two goals from 14 disposals and six marks to go with six tackles and eight clearances.
Archie Van Dyk had five contested marks from his 10 marks, adding to his 19 touches, seven inside 50s and a goal to add to a stellar season to date.
Panther Hudson Voigt led the way in attack with 3.4 from 11 disposals and five inside 50s, while Kody Shortridge was the side's other multiple goalkicker.
Monteath continues to impress as King debuts for Swans VFL
Essendon ruckman Lachie Monteath has added to his dominant VFL debut with another strong performance over the weekend against Frankston.
Lining up for his second game in the red sash, the Eastern Ranges product had 16 disposals, 10 tackles, 26 hitouts, four clearances and a goal in the one-goal defeat.
The pair of performances combine to have Monteath firmly in consideration for this year's draft window, with clubs keen to add to their ruck stocks likely to circle.
Meanwhile, Sydney Academy talent Max King made his VFL debut on Saturday in Queensland against Southport, with the Swans cutting a 44-point deficit to claim an unlikely win.
Sydney kicked five final-term goals to the Sharks' none to snatch the victory, with King playing a part with his fourth-quarter major.
It could've been a big first game for the Allies talent, who booted four behinds from his eight kicks.
An exciting forward-midfield hybrid, King is firmly in consideration as a top 10 option at this year's draft.
WA claim U16s win over SA
East Perth's Axel Walsh has continued to build his prospects as one of the top-rated teenagers eligible for the 2027 draft with a dominant outing in a win over South Australia over the weekend.
The 200cm ruckman had 23 disposals and 29 hitouts in a two-goal victory, adding to a strong run with school footy.
It was a low-scoring affair, with Western Australia winning with just four goals, with Troy Warner - the younger brother of Swans pair Chad and Corey - among the goalkickers.
South Australia took an early lead before the Black Swans broke away, having seven more scoring shots.
Both squads will head to Queensland for the upcoming U16s National Championships fixtures.
