Adelaide defender Sam Shaw’s immediate playing future is clouded as he battles the lingering effects of a concussion sustained in the SANFL nearly seven weeks ago.

Shaw hasn’t played since being hurt against Woodville-West Torrens on April 10 with his training continually interrupted by feelings of “lethargy’’.

“Sam’s still suffering some (concussion) symptoms from time to time which are brought on by exercise,’’ Adelaide head of football David Noble told The Advertiser. "When he’s not training he feels quite well, which is pleasing."

“But he has this lethargy under exercise that we have to monitor and be conscious of, particularly in this era where as an (AFL) industry we are really conscious of identifying any ongoing concussion issues and dealing with them in the right way.’’
