Gold Coast star Gary Ablett has missed a training session the day before the Suns' historic clash with Port Adelaide in Shanghai, according to The Courier Mail.
The former Suns captain is still expected to play in Sunday's groundbreaking fixture however, after Gold Coast assistant Matthew Primus said he just needed a rest after Friday's main session.
"You just don't back him up the next day, like a good horse," Primus said.
Every other Gold Coast player made an appearance during the session, as preparations continue in an unknown environment.
The former Power ruckman knows just how important this match could be for both sides, especially given they'll both enjoy a bye next weekend.
"It is an important one - last week they probably thought they let a game slip," Primus said.
"We need to get some games back.
"We played really well last week and you have heard a lot of players, they talk about our consistency.
"We want to play the style of footy we played last week, regardless of whether we're in China, or at Metricon or the MCG."
