The AFL has released the Total Player Payment (TPP) figures for 2015.
The average salary of players across the AFL rose to over $300,000 for the first time last season, up from $283,029 in 2014.
Four players earned over $1 million in season 2015, up from two in 2014. Two of those players earned over $1.2 million.
AFL.com.au has reported that two of the players to earn over $1 million in 2015 were Gold Coast's Gary Ablett and West Coast's Nick Naitanui.
However, the remaining two are uncertain, but industry sources nominated Scott Pendlebury, Jobe Watson, Marc Murphy and Dayne Beams as possible players to earn over the $1 milllion mark.
Sydney's Lance Franklin will earn $1 million in 2016, and Bulldogs' forward Tom Boyd will also be added to the list.
Franklin earned around $700,000 in 2015 due to his heavily back-ended deal with the Swans.
Actually Pendlebury took pay cuts to allow Collingwood to sign more players.
