St Kilda veteran Sam Fisher will miss at a month of football due to a hamstring injury.

The 33-year-old sustained the injury at training on Thursday.

"Unfortunately Sam injured his hamstring late in (Thursday's) training session and we expect he will miss around 4-5 weeks," St Kilda football manager Jamie Cox said

"We will assess his progress after the club's bye (round 13) and will be in a better position to identify a return date then.

"Given Sam's diligence and professionalism with treating injuries in the past, we are confident he can continue to have an impact in the second half of the season."
