If the Cats want to prise Brett Deledio away from Richmond, they will have to pay a high price.

The Tigers yesterday ruled out a play for Geelong speedster Steven Motlop, but have another Cats' youngster in their sights.

Damian Barrett has reported that the Tigers want midfielder and former Gold Coast Suns player, Josh Caddy, in return for Deledio.

Caddy has a strong connection with Richmond, with good friend Dion Prestia set to join the Tigers this trade period, while former Geelong football manager, Neil Balme has recently joined the club. He is also said to be close with former Cats assistant coach, Blake Caracella, who is now at Punt Road.

The 24-year-old was drafted by the Suns with pick No.24 in 2010. He played 24 games with Gold Coast before joining Geelong at the end of 2012, where he has played 71 games in four seasons.

He played 18 games in 2016, averaging 20.2 disposals, 3.4 marks and 3.9 tackles.

  1. Don’t need lids just need a few coaches at geelong who can get the best out of who we already have..and for PD to bring a couple of the guys standing next to him into the game, don’t look for Sels cause he gets his own, caddy and Duncan would be a good start.
Stars don’t win GFs star teams do.
