Sydney's Xavier Richards has requested a trade.

The Swans have confirmed the 23-year-old has informed the club he wants to find a new home this trade period.

“We’ve been in discussions with Xavier’s management through the back end of the year and to this point we haven’t been able to come to terms,” Sydney's head of football, Tom Harley said.

“We will work with Xavier and his management to find a mutually beneficial outcome.”

Richards played 10 of his 12 senior games for the Swans this season, including every finals game.

He was recruited with pick 29 in the 2013 Rookie Draft.
