Melbourne’s elite performance manager Dave Misson confirmed on Thursday morning that Lumumba has been placed on the long term injury list and ruled out for the remainder of the season.

“As Roosy explained in his press conference this morning, Heritier Lumumba won’t be playing again this year,” he told Melbourne TV.

Earlier, coach Paul Roos said the club would take a cautious approach to ensure Lumumba is 100 per cent fir by pre-season.

“We’re just hoping that ‘H’ gets right and comes back to pre-season and has a good year next year,” Roos said.

Meanwhile, small forward Jeff Garlett will face a fitness test after suffering to a skin infection on hi right leg.

“Jeff (was) a lot better today and we expect him to come in and have a run tomorrow and train on Friday,” Misson said.

  1. As a demons supporter i cringed when we recruited him and have done in every game he plays. He was never that good but he has showed nothing in every game he has played for us. Definite delisting at seasons end.

    • Disagree massive
I think his been great for the team not necessarily playing wise more experience around for our younger boys ! His been all Australian and a premiership Backman before so he knows what it takes
This year jayden hunts development has been huge and the way he is now Taking on the game and dominating for us, it definitelyresembles so much of how lumumba played
