Out-of-contract Sydney ruckman Toby Nankervis is being chased by a number of rival clubs, according to AFL.com.au.

"Several clubs are understood to be monitoring the 21-year-old," according to the report, with the youngster struggling to break into the Swans' side.

Nankervis has played just four senior games this season, with Sam Naismith and Callum Sinclair preferred over the 21-year-old in the absence in of Kurt Tippett.

He was named in the All-Australian side at Under 18 level and can also play as a forward.

Naismith and Tippett are both contracted until 2018, while Sinclair joined on a four year deal from West Coast last year, leaving Nankervis on the outer.

The 199cm ruckman has played a total of eight career games since being selected with pick No.35 in the 2013 National Draft.
