Richmond announce coaching departures

The Tigers have told three members of their coaching department they will not be offered new contracts.

Assistant coaches, Greg Mellor, Ross Smith and senior development coach, Mark Williams will not continue with the club in 2017.

Williams has been a senior assistant at the Tigers since joining the club in September 2012.

Smith has been at Punt Road since 2011, and has worked as the backline coach and the defensive coordinator.

Mellor, who joined the Tigers in 2011, initially with Richmond’s first and second-year players, before working as the backline coach and for the last two seasons, as the forward line coach.

“We thank all of these coaches for their commitment to the Club, its players and our football program, and we wish all of them and their families the very best for their future endeavours,” Richmond’s General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson said.

    Typical Richmond fashion, to start mid way. Obviously not serious about making an actual impact in the over all business.
