Ratten out of the race for Brisbane coaching job

Hawthorn assistant coach and former Carlton coach Brett Ratten it out of the running to coach the Brisbane Lions, according the Herald Sun.

Ratten reportedly met with Lions’ officials this week to have informal discussions about the vacant coaching position.

Following discussions regarding his coaching ambitions, the two parties agreed that he would not pursue the coaching job any further.

Ratten’s family commitments in Melbourne are believed to be a big reason behind his decision to remain at the Hawks.

Hawthorn football boss Chris Fagan is the overwhelming favourite for the job.

  1. you’d have to be a nut to want to coach the lions, fagan would get sacked after the first year. good to see ratts has made the right decision. ratts needs to wait for the right job to come up and it will!
