Port Adelaide star Chad Wingard is in doubt for the Power's clash with Richmond on Saturday night after suffering a delayed concussion on the weekend.

Wingard played out the match against Geelong on Saturday night, but tests later revealed the 22-year-old suffered a late on-set concussion, after receiving a heavy hit during the third quarter.

"Chad was checked at three-quarter time and showed no signs of concussion," Port Adelaide head of high performance Darren Burgess said.

"We checked him again after the match as a precaution and he was showing signs of a delayed concussion.

"His safety is obviously our priority. We'll review him again this week and if he hasn't improved we'll keep him out of round six."
