Collingwood is reportedly close to signing veteran Melbourne defender, Lynden Dunn, following the departures of three key defenders this trade period.

Nathan Brown has joined St Kilda as a free agent, Jonathon Marsh has requested a move home to WA and Jack Frost is likely to finalise a move to Brisbane on a three-year deal later this week.

AFL.com.au reports that the Pies  and the Demons are close to finalising a deal for Dunn, that would see Melbourne receive a late draft pick in exchange for the 29-year-old.

Fremantle's Alex Silvagni was also on the club's radar, however, Dunn is believed to be their preferred trade target.

He has played a total of 165 games for the Demons since making his debut in 2006, but managed just four games this season, despite some impressive performances for Casey in the VFL.

  1. Why did Buckley get an extension on his contract in the first place? he obviously can’t coach. He had no senior experience as a coach. But Eddie’s love child was given another year. Hope they both go next year…………
