Collingwood forward Mason Cox is in doubt for the Magpies' clash with the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Friday night due to a shoulder injury.

Cox injured his shoulder early in the Pies' loss to Richmond last weekend, but managed to play out the game. However, he pulled up sore from the match and has struggled to overcome the injury this week.

AFL.com.au reports that he will undergo a fitness test at training on Thursday, which will determine his availability for the match.

Cox has played 11 matches this season, kicking 17 goals.

The American’s absence would be keenly felt if he does not come up, with Darcy Moore in doubt after missing last week with a hamstring injury, and Alex Fasolo ruled out for the rest of the season after having shoulder surgery during the week. Injury has smashed Collingwood’s forward line this season with Jamie Elliott missing the season, Dane Swan being injured in the first game of the year, and Fasolo kicking his 25 goals in just 12 games.
