Essendon midfielder Jake Melksham has requested a trade from the Bombers.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Melbourne over the past week, however, the club nor Melksham have confirmed a preferred destination at this stage.

“Jake is a talented young midfielder with more than a hundred games experience and we’re extremely disappointed in his decision to seek a trade,” List and recruiting manager Adrian Dodoro said.

Melksham has played 114 games for the Bombers since being taken with the No. 10 draft pick in the 2009 National Draft.
