The Kangaroos have banished youngster Kanyne Turner to the VFL for a month after he was caught drink driving in the early hours of Sunday morning.

However, he will not serve his ban until after he completes his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The leadership group decided that once Turner completes his recovery, he will be ineligible for senior selection for four weeks.

Taking into account roughly another three weeks to recover from his injury, plus his time in the VFL and North Melbourne's bye, he is unlikely to be available for senior selection until Round 17.
