Veteran Hawks trio re-sign

Hawthorn premiership stars Luke Hodge, Shaun Burgoyne and Josh Gibson will all play on in season 2017.

The decorated trio have agreed to one-year contract extensions with the club.

The extension will take Hodge into a 16th season at AFL level, Burgoyne into a 17th and Gibson into a 13th.

Together the trio hold 11 premiership medallions, 809 AFL games, 73 finals games and five All Australian appearances.

Proving age is no factor, Hodge (32), Burgoyne (33) and Gibson (32) have averaged 20 disposals so far in 2016 and have been crucial in securing Hawthorn’s seventh consecutive finals berth.
