Fremantle star Nat Fyfe has confirmed his commitment to the Fremantle Dockers, refuting claims he will seek a trade at season's end.

Following Fyfe's comments last week that he would look at his free agency options, reports emerged that the Gold Coast Suns had plans to lure the Brownlow Medalist away from the Dockers.

However, Fyfe told the club's website on Monday that he is committed to Fremantle.

"I don’t want there to be any doubt that I see my future here at the Fremantle Dockers,” Fyfe said.

“We have a strong plan in place, with good people…and recent reports that I would consider a trade at the end of the season are completely false.

“My manager, Jason Dover, remains in constant communication with the club and we’ll get something sorted at the right time next year.

“At the moment though, all my focus is firmly on getting my leg right and getting back to playing my best footy.”

Fremantle CEO Steve Rosich said the club has no doubt Fyfe is committed to the club for the long term.

“Nat’s comments today confirming his commitment to the Fremantle Dockers are welcome by the club but come as no surprise to us,” Rosich said.

“Nat...has always shown a strong commitment to Fremantle.

“His comments today should also put an end to recent external speculation that the club would consider trading Nat to another club at the end of the season, which is not something we would entertain.”
