Gold Coast's Dion Prestia has reportedly met with Hawthorn officials, including coach Alastiar Clarkson.

Damian Barrett told The Footy Show last night that Clarkson met with Prestia about a possible move to the Hawks next season when the injured Sun was in Melbourne for surgery last month.

"He (Clarkson) was part of a Hawks' posse which is trying to lure out of contract Gold Coast Suns' player, Dion Prestia, in a meeting in Melbourne recently," Barrett said.

"Prestia had travelled to Melbourne for surgery on a season ending knee injury. The Hawks sat him down and discussed a future with him.

"The Suns are now privately conceding that Prestia will be walking out of the club and they do not yet know who they will be transacting a deal with in the trade period," Barrett added.

Four other Victorian clubs are also said to be keen on Prestia, with Richmond, Carlton, Essendon and Melbourne all showing interest in the 23-year-old.
