Speaking on SEN radio today, Carlton's Bryce Gibbs, has somehow managed to fit every pre-season footy cliche into one sentence.

Gibbs told SEN that youngster Patrick Cripps is set for another big year in 2016. However, what he actually did was just reel off one cliche after another.

“He’s going well and put on a few more kilos and looking very trim. It’s scary, he’s going to take his game to another level next season – he came back in superb nick and he’s been training the house down, watch out for him to have a big year," Gibbs said.

It seems nearly every player is "training the house down" in pre-season and set to "take his game to another level", which got us thinking about eight things AFL players should say in interviews, rather than the usual cliches.
