Former No.1 draft pick and arguably the most sought after out-of-contract GWS youngster, Lachie Whitfield has signed a two-year contract extension with the Giants, Fairfax Media has reported.
Whitfield reportedly rejected several lucrative offers from Victorian clubs, to re-commit to the league's newest franchise in a deal worth a reported $1 million.
Essendon, North Melbourne and St Kilda were among the club's vying for the 21-year-old's signature.
Whitfield has played 58 games for the Giants since making his debut in Round 1, 2013.
