19-year-old Adelaide forward Wayne Milera has succumbed to a minor injury problem, with a knee complaint stunting his pre-season training.

Milera's injury isn't too serious, but Adelaide forward Eddie Betts did say his teammate was under certain restrictions as he tries to climb back to full fitness.

"Wayne's still off the track at the moment and he's doing some running on the sidelines," Betts said.

"He's had a slight setback with his knee, but he's coming back into drills."

Adelaide are looking to utilise Milera in a bigger capacity this season, as the Crows are flirting with the idea of moving him into the middle of the ground to inject more pace into their midfield.

The young Crow play eight games in his debut year last season, averaging 11.1 possessions and 3.1 marks.
