The Herald Sun has reported that Essendon will lower its ticket prices for several games this season, after the club has seen a drop in average attendances of around 5,000 since 2012 when the supplements saga began.

The Bombers, as well as the Blues set a top ticket price of $60 at the MCG in 2015, around $5 less than every other club.

The club is expected to once again lower the price for the 2016 season, while top ticket prices will remain at about $65 at Etihad Stadium.

Essendon told the Herald Sun that it made its decision on ticket prices prior to the CAS verdict being handed down.

The Bombers' average crowd in 2012 was around 45,000, but dropped to around 40,000 last season.
