Richmond midfielder Dustin Martin has won the 2016 Jack Dyer Medal.

Martin won the medal with 62 votes, just one ahead of defedner Alex Rance, in a thrilling count.

Skipper Trent Cotchin finished third on 51 votes.

It is Martin's first best and fairest, however, the 25-year-old has come close on several occasions, finishing second in 2013 and 2015 and third in 2011 and 2014.
