Brendon Goddard will captain Essendon in season 2016.

Mark Baguley will be the club's vice-captain.

New coach John Worsfold anointed Goddard as the obvious choice as skipper last week, with the decision made official today.

The 30-year-old has played 64 games for the Bombers since crossing from St Kilda at the end of the 2012 season, where he played 205 games in ten season, including the 2009 and 2010 Grand Finals.

Baguley, 28, has played 72 games for the Dons in four seasons.
