Sydney Swans assistant coach Stuart Dew says he will not be applying for the vacant Brisbane coaching job.

Dew, who has been linked with the Adelaide and Carlton coaching jobs over the past two years, told RSN radio he happy in his current role at the Swans.

“Last year there was a lot of talk about what I am doing and I don’t really want that talk while we are trying to win a premiership,” the highly rated assistant coach told Radio Sport National.

“I came out pretty early to say I won’t be applying and I will just be continuing my development.

“What I have learnt in these scenarios is that they will have preferred candidates and with my experience and where I’m at I’m very happy doing what I am doing.”

“I think that given a lot of the talk that has been around in regards to who they are going after I don’t think my profile fits that.

“I’m not in a rush, I’m only 37 and I don’t want to jump in too early.

“If I see an opportunity that feels like a good fit I will certainly go at it flat out but it wasn’t the case on this occasion.”

Dew s contracted to the Swans until the end of 2018.
