Lincoln McCarthy earns new deal

Geelong youngster Lincoln McCarthy is set to sign one-year contract extension, keeping him at the Cattery until at least the end of next season.

McCarthy has been rewarded for a breakthrough season in which he has played 14 of a possible 19 games, taking his career tally to 19 over five season at Geelong.

AFL.com.au reports that the 22-year-old’s new deal will include a games based trigger clause for an further extension into¬†2018.

McCarthy has kicked 12 goals so far this season, emerging as the Cats’ first choice small forward.

He was selected with pick No.66 in the 2011 National Draft.
