Free agentĀ Daniel Wells has informed North MelbourneĀ he will be leaving Arden Street.

Wells is expected to joins the Magpies on a three-year deal.

The club released the following statement a short time ago confirming the news.

"North can confirm Daniel Wells has advised he will be leaving the club under Free Agency rules.

The 31-year-old played 243 games over 14 seasons with the Kangaroos.

ā€œWeā€™re obviously disappointed to be losing someone of Danielā€™s calibre but we respect his decision,ā€ North GM Football Cameron Joyce said.

ā€œDaniel has been an outstanding player and person and we wish him all the best.

ā€œWe have benefitted from Free Agency over the past few seasons and fully respect the system.ā€

North had tabled a two-year deal for the midfielder."
