GWS midfielder Jack Steele will not play any part in the Giants' inaugural finals campaign, after suffering a serious foot injury at training on Tuesday.

Giants' coach Leon Cameron confirmed the news at a media conference on Wednesday morning.

"Jack Steele hurt himself in training yesterday and probably won't play any further footy this year," Cameron said.

The injury means Steele may have played his last match for the Giants, with speculation mounting that he will seek a trade at season's end.

The No.24 pick in the 2014 National Draft has been heavily linked with a move to St Kilda in the off-season, after managing just 17 games in two seasons at Greater Western Sydney.
