Fremantle's pre-season is going from bad to worse, with news star 2015 recruit, Harley Bennell, has suffered another injury, sustaining a minor calf strain in his left leg.

It is the opposite calf which kept him out for the entire season in 2016.

The 24-year-old will travel to Munich in Germany to meet with highly rated specialist, Dr Muller-Wohlfarht, who famously helped Geelong's Max Rooke and Collingwood's Ben Reid overcome soft tissue injuries.

“Harley will travel to Germany next month to consult Dr Muller-Wohlfarht and we are positive about him being available for selection in round one of the 2017 season,” General manager of football operations Chris Bond said.

Meanwhile, Bond also confirmed that 2016 best and fairest winner, Lachie Neale has undergone minor surgery on his right knee.

Earlier on Friday, Police confirmed Dockers' defender Michael Johnson has been charged with assault following an incident in a Perth kebab shop on November 13.
