The AFL Players' Association last night named the best 22under22 side, with Bulldog Marcus Bontempelli named captain.

Bontempelli has been named in the side in each of his three seasons in the league.

The Western Bulldogs had three players in the side, as did Melbourne and Carlton, as the most represented teams.

Brisbane, Fremantle, Geelong, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, Richmond and West Coast all failed to have a player in the 22-man team.
