The Herald Sun has revealed that a major rift has opened between an AFL club and broadcaster Channel Seven.

The rift is reportedly due to Channel Seven naming the club whose player was the victim of a cyberporn attack.

The Melbourne newspaper broke news this week that a young AFL player had become the victim of a 'catfish' cyberporn attack, but opted not to name the player or the team he plays for.

The Club is reportedly "seething" at the broadcaster's decision to name the team.

“The fact the only network and media agency to threaten and carry out with naming the club was the AFL broadcast partner is even worse, ” a club insider told the Herald Sun.
